The City of Erin has a Private Act Charter and is governed by a Mayor, Vice Mayor and 7 Aldermen:

Meeting Dates, Times & Locations

Regular monthly board meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. Monthly work session meetings are held on the Thursday before the regular meeting at 6:00 p.m. Special called meetings will be announced. All meeting are held at the Erin City Hall, 15 Hill Street, Erin, TN 37061 unless otherwise posted.

The City has a total operating budget of 5.6 million annually which includes services of Water, Sewer, Police, Fire and Street maintenance; the city employees 5 full time police officers. >See Annual Budget

The City of Erin Fire Dept. has 1 class A engine, 1 rescue engine, 175' quint and 1 medium rescue with 18 firefighters ISO rating of 6.

Erin is the County Seat of Houston County; has a population of 1340 and tax rate of 1.10 per 100.00 assessed value.
